Maggie’s Wake is a dynamic band from Southwestern Ontario, blending traditional folk roots with contemporary styles like jazz, Americana, and classic country.

 

Fronted by award-winning songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Tara Dunphy (The Rizdales, Luther Wright and the Wrongs) and internationally recognized fiddler Lindsay Schindler (Rant Maggie Rant, Trent Severn), the group creates a sound that is both rooted in heritage and boldly original. Joined by Andrew Kosty on bass and Ken Palmer on guitar, Maggie’s Wake has been captivating audiences in sold-out theatres across Canada.

 

Their self-titled debut album, released worldwide on March 17, 2024, received critical acclaim, leading to showcases at the Folk Alliance International Conference 2024, NERFA 2024, and an upcoming performance at the Your Roots Are Showing conference in Belfast, 2026.

 

In 2025, they were honored with the Canadian Folk Music Award for Best New/Emerging Artist, cementing their place as one of the most exciting voices in contemporary folk.
